A huge slice of one of Auckland's most expensive suburbs is up for grabs, offering a buyer with deep pockets a chance to develop 2742m2 of land boasting some of the best views of the harbour.
Five adjoining properties in St Marys Bay are being bundled up together and sold as a development opportunity.
It includes a derelict house that made the headlines last year after selling for $3 million.
That house, 89 St Mary's Road, which enjoys elevated views of the harbour and the Harbour Bridge, was bought in March 2018 by Possum P Ltd.

The 2742m2 package being marketed for sale, by agents Matty Ma and Shawn Ma, comprises 83, 85, 87 and 89 St Marys Road, and 35 London Street. The derelict house that sold last year at 89 St Marys Road - has consent to demolish the dwelling, while 83 St Marys Bay Road is currently covered in scaffolding and plastic while it undergoes renovation work.
Large blocks of land in St Marys Bay, and indeed neighbouring suburbs, rarely come to market so it's expected there will be heightened interest in the listing.
The block of land comprises five titles.
The listing ad highlights the opportunity for development, saying "Time has turned full circle for this special character, historic heritage location."

The website for Architectural Designers New Zealand shows concepts for the renovation and modernisation of 83 St Marys Road. It is unknown how far along the renovation work has progressed.
The area is categorised as "special character", and any new developments would have to be "built to heritage" under the Auckland Unitary Plan or in keeping with the historical nature of the area.
According to the latest OneRoof Property Report, the median value of properties in St Marys Bay is $2.225 million.
